چکیده

We present a stochastic optimal control model to optimize gas network inventories in the face of system uncertainties. The model captures detailed network dynamics and operational constraints and uses a weighted risk-mean objective. We perform a degrees-of-freedom analysis to assess operational flexibility and to determine conditions for model consistency. We compare the control policies obtained with the vailable online 10 February 2014 eywords: tochastic optimization atural gas eal-time ptimal control stochastic model against those of deterministic and robust counterparts. We demonstrate that the use of risk metrics can help operators to systematically mitigate system volatility. Moreover, we discuss computational scalability issues and effects of discretization resolution on economic performance. © 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Two-Stage Stochastic Day-Ahead Market Clearing in Gas and Power Networks Integrated with Wind Energy

The significant penetration rate of wind turbines in power systems made some challenges in the operation of the systems such as large-scale power fluctuations induced by wind farms. Gas-fired plants with fast starting ability and high ramping can better handle natural uncertainties of wind power compared to other traditional plants. Therefore, the integration of electrical and natural gas syste...

Strategic Model of Optimal Resedential Gas Consumption in Iran

Natural gas is now the largest source of energy in the international community and Iran has the largest natural gas reservoirs in the world. The development of gas networks has covered 98% of the urban population and more than 85% of the rural population of Iran. On the other hand, the exporting and conversion of natural gas into petrochemical products, electricity generation and use for indust...

A mathematical model for designing optimal urban gas networks, an ant colony algorithm and a case study

Considering the high costs of the implementation and maintenance of gas distribution networks in urban areas, optimal design of such networks is vital. Today, urban gas networks are implemented within a tree structure. These networks receive gas from City Gate Stations (CGS) and deliver it to the consumers. This study presents a comprehensive model based on Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (...
